On a 24v you will need no more than .020″ piston protrusion and at least .038″ valve face depth with a standard gasket.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eIf you do not meet the minimum requirements for piston to valve clearance, don’t worry, you can still run an oversize head gasket or cut valve reliefs.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eAlthough this is considered a drop in cam it is important to check clearances.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWe always recommend new lifters when changing a cam.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eApplications:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eTowing applications\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eLow rpm torque increases\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eHelps spool large singles\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eMeant for increased all around efficiency  \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eBreak in:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTo make sure that you have no issues during break-in, follow these few suggestions.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eMake sure that the cam has a liberal amount of quality assembly lube applied\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eDO NOT let the engine start without oil pressure, we usually suggest not changing engine oil until after the engine is started.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWhen installed in a new engine, be sure to put a liberal amount of assembly lube in the oil pump and prime the oil filter\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWhen the filter and oil system are already primed, cam will get oil pressure much faster than if the oil is changed at the same time.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eDisconnect the fuel system and spin the engine with the starter until oil pressure can be read or until oil is coming out of the rocker arms.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eDo not let the starter run for more than 10 seconds at a time\u003cbr\u003eOnce oil pressure has been verified, let the engine start and run for five minutes at 1200-1500rpm then shut engine down\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eIf in a new engine, retorque head (you should see .003″ to .004″ more gasket crush which will alter valve lash. Adjust valves then you are cleared to abuse your engine.
