The oversized steel bars are further cold-worked to increase mechanical properties and remove any surface impurities. The fasteners are heat treated with a proprietary process, unique from the automotive, commercial, and aerospace industries allowing each fastener the ability to achieve higher tensile strengths without sacrificing toughness. Fasteners are centerless ground to ensure concentricity and any surface defects from heat treating are removed. Threads are roll formed on the fastener in the hardened state.
