ECMs with broken “LOCKING” tabs or connectors WILL NOT be accepted for upgrades.
The L5P ECM Service from HP Tuners gives you the power to tune your 2017-2023 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500/3500 6.6L Duramax.
There are two available options to calibrate, log, and scan via your vehicle’s OBDII port—Upgrade or Purchase. With either choice, you receive an E41 ECM that is fully compatible and ready to tune with the MPVI2 or newer device and VCM Suite software.
Upgrade Service
This one-time, send-in upgrade option will upgrade your original or spare E41 ECM to enable tuning in VCM Suite. Simply send us your ECM and we’ll send it back to you fully upgraded for tuning in the latest VCM Suite (BETA). This means you must remove your ECM from your vehicle and ship it to HP Tuners (see removal video).

- No “Replace ECM” function*
*As long as the ECM is installed back into the same vehicle it came from. If you send in a spare ECM, you must complete all reprograming and relearns in the installation instructions.
Please allow up to 10 business days (plus shipping times) per ECM/TCM for processing once your module arrives at our location for service. (i.e., 2 ECMs = up to 20 business days). This estimate does not include return shipping time.

New ECM Purchase
Short on time and need an upgraded E41 ECM ASAP? This option allows you to purchase a brand-new, fully upgraded E41 ECM instead of sending in your original controller for servicing. This is ideal for enthusiasts who want their vehicles up and running as quickly as possible.
Once you install the brand-new, already upgraded E41 ECM, you must follow these installation steps.
Everything you need to tune your GM E41 ECM (L5P) vehicle with HP Tuners:
- Select one of the two options available above: Upgrade or Purchase.
- Download the latest version of VCM Suite BETA for free here.
- Once upgraded, purchase (6) Universal Credits to license your upgraded ECM.
- Make sure you have an MPVI2, MPVI2+, MPVI3, or MPVI4 interface.
- Purchase a new MPVI4.
Note: Universal Credits for licensing are not included in the cost of any upgrade service or purchase. Credits must be purchased separately.
Note: This direct OBDII upgrade is ONLY available for 2018-2023 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500/3500 6.6L Duramax trucks. 2017 models still require either the send-in upgrade service or the GM E41 ECM Upgrade Kit.
